Health & Safety

  • Health and Safety at the club

    Key areas of concern:

    1. Young children in the facilities are to be supervised by parents at all times. The stairs of the lounge have a gate which can be closed if necessary. Parents must be extra careful of their children around the balcony area.

    2. The pool is not to be used by children under the age of 8 unless supervised by a responsible adult (over the age of 16) Children between the age of 8 and 16 may require supervision during busier periods at the discretion of a member of staff. Breaking the pool rules may result in being asked to leave the pool area immediately, especially for concerns regarding safety.

    3. The gym equipment can be dangerous if used incorrectly. If you are unsure about any of the machines don't hesitate to contact the club manager or get someone else to help you. If you are concerned a machine is broken, please don't use it and immediately report it to a member of staff or log in the log book.

    4. All accidents need reporting to a member of staff, accident report forms can be found in the First Aid Box which is located in the bar. If the accident has been caused as a result of a hazard or you feel a hazard could result in an accident within the club, please ensure the issue is raised with the club manager immediately either through email (office@royaloakracquets.co.nz) or the out of office book which is left on the desk if they are not present.

    5. The defibrillator (located in the bar) and fire safety equipment are regularly checked. In the result of a fire, please make your way out of the building via the fire exits (located either end of the squash corridor), the front door or via the decking. The gym has a second exit located behind the bikes in the far right corner if the main entrance is blocked.

Royal Oak Racquets Club gratefully acknowledges the support of these organisations
